Nirvana bass man, Krist Novoselic set to perform Nevermind

Fri, 19 Aug 2011

There have been a number of announcements this year regarding the 20th anniversary celebrations of Nirvana's seminal garage-punk classic, Nevermind.

What with the album's super deluxe reissue heading our way sometime in October along with a number of Nirvana/Nevermind exhibitions due to take place in London, Melbourne and obviously, Seattle plus Spin Magazine 's tribute album, 'Newermind', which featured covers from The Vaselines, JEFF the Brotherhood, The Meat Puppets & others, the album will undoubtedly see in its 20th year in style.

However, Pitchfork have reported this morning that bassist & co-founder, Krist Novoselic will perform the album (Nevermind) in its entirety with a number of Washington based musicians at the Experience Music Project in Seattle on Sept.20

So far the bands that have agreed to perform are The Fastbacks, The Long Winters, Vaporland, Visqueen, Campfire OK and Ravenna Woods although it is unlikely that Dave Grohl will appear as the Foo Fighters are scheduled to appear on the same night in Cleveland.

In related news Novoselic has fueled the ongoing Black Sabbath reunion inferno which was made public at the start of the week & according to his official twitter page, he is due to take part. The former Nirvana bass-man tweeted:

"I will also be part of the Black Sabbath reunion playing accordion on every song off Sabotage with Tony, Bill, Geezer and the Oz Man!"
